This cottage is a converted stone barn, formerly an artist’s studio.

Many previous guests have referred to it as a ‘hobbit house’ or ‘Hansel & Gretel’ cottage. It is certainly full of character.

Improved layout for 2011 – There is a large, airy open-plan living room/main sleeping area, a small kitchen area, a toilet and separate shower room and a lovely light dining area with a beautiful reclaimed stained glass window.

The main sleeping area (now on ground floor) comprises a large double bed and wardrobe/drawer unit. There is also a sleeping crog loft upstairs; with twin mattresses. The access to the sleeping loft is up a steep ladder and head height is limited.

There is a Freeview TV with DVD player and a radio/CD player.

The artist’s studio is heated by a wood-burning stove and there is instant hot water on tap. A gas cooker, microwave, refrigerator/ice box and washing machine are also provided.

It would be particularly suitable for a couple, perhaps with a child; or for two or three friends.

WiFi internet access is available in both the Artists Studio and the Garden House.

Maen-Offeiriad is approached along about a 300m rough track which is drivable in a normal saloon car. We have ample car parking.

Price and availability

We book Saturday to Saturday for week-long stays, and from October onwards we offer 3 nights short breaks. We ask guests to arrive after 4pm and leave before 10am, but call if you have other requirements.

We provide bedding and tea towels but would ask you to bring your own hand/bath towels.

Well behaved and socialised Dogs are welcome in the artist’s studio.

We ask guests to smoke outdoors.
