Directions to Maen-Offeiriad:
By road -Heading West along the M4
- If you’re coming from the east, make your way along the M4 past Swansea.
- The M4 ends and turns into the A48. Carry on towards Camarthen.
- When the A48 turns into the A40, go straight on towards Haverfordwest.
- Turn right onto the A478 towards Cardigan.
- When you reach Crymych, look for the Crymych Arms pub on your left.
- Take the left turn immediately beside the pub, signposted to Eglwyswrw (the signpost is on the right hand side of the road).
- Now head along this road for a couple of miles, zig-zagging over a little stone bridge.
- Take the second left after this, signposted to Ffynongroes / Crosswell.
- Now take the first left at a crossroads, towards Penygroes.
- At Penygroes Chapel there is a t-junction; turn left then follow the road immediately round to the right.
- After half a mile there is a track on your left with a red post-box.
- You will see a sign for Maen-Offeiriad on a post with other house names near the post box. Go up this track.
- Pass the white bungalow on your right (there may be chickens on the track -drive slowly).
- Maen-Offeiriad is the next entrance on the left with a blue gate.
- Open the gate (please close behind you) and proceed up the drive and park at the end of the drive.
By road -From North Wales
- Take the A487 from Machynlleth, through Aberystwyth and Cardigan and head towards Fishguard.
- Drive through Eglwyswrw and in about half a mile, at a garage on your left, take the B4329 signposted to Haverfordwest.
- After approximately 1 mile, at Crosswell turn left at the crossroads toward Crymych.
- Continue for about 1 mile, go through Pontyglasier and take the next turning on your right about 600m from the small car repair garage. This takes you towards Penygroes (though the signpost is missing).
- Follow this lane for about 1 mile, it goes past a farm yard with a stone barn on your right and winds on until it turns 90degrees to the left with a house set back from the road on your right.
- Just past this, at the post box on your right, there are several house signs on a post including Maen Offeiriad, drive up the track
- Pass the white bungalow on your right (there may be chickens on the track -drive slowly).
- Maen-Offeiriad is the next entrance on the left with the blue gate.
- Open the gate (please close behind you) and proceed up the drive and park at the end of the drive.
By train
If you want to come by train, get in touch and we will arrange for you to be collected from the station. The nearest station is Clunderwen.
With bikes
Keen cyclists could have a fantastic car-free holiday here. Get the train to Clunderwen; Maen-Offeiriad is about 14 miles away. Once here, there’s excellent off-road riding nearby, along with endless quiet country lanes.
