The cottage is a characterful old stone house, typical of the area with hugely thick stone walls and slate roof. It sleeps up to four. It's cosy and welcoming in all weathers, comfortable and easy to live in, simple and unfussy. There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a cot is available on request. There is a generously-sized kitchen with hand-made cupboards, gas cooker, a floor of huge slabs of sea-slate and a kitchen table and chairs. The large living room has a woodburning stove (instructions given!), television and DVD player, and an oak floor with rugs. There is a bathroom and an additional upstairs toilet. The cottage has oil central heating and hot water to supplement the woodburner.
There is a dishwasher and washing machine. Outside there is a small private garden and guests are welcome to explore the rest of our land, a peaceful mix of gardens, fields and copses.
The cottage would be ideal for a couple, a small family, two couples or a group of up to four friends.
We only book Saturday to Saturday for week-long stays, and we ask guests to arrive after 4pm and leave before 10am, but do call and ask if you have other requirements. Dogs (and other pets by arrangement) are welcome in the cottage. We ask guests to smoke outdoors.
We only take weekly bookings (Sat-Sat) for May to September. The prices in the table below show the full week price and the price per night for shorter stays when available.
